Data security and storage leaders join forces to protect data and prevent breaches in today’s top storage platform

Varonis Systems, Inc. has announced a partnership with Pure Storage, marking its position as the first data security company to integrate with Pure Storage technology. This collaboration is focused on enabling customers to enhance the security of sensitive data, identify threats, and comply with evolving privacy standards.

Pure Storage is enhancing data security through immutable snapshots for quick recovery after a cyber incident, while Varonis provides a solution that supports automated detection of exposed data and permission management.

As a result of this partnership, Varonis' platform will allow Pure Storage clients to:

  • Discover and classify sensitive data. The Varonis system scans Pure Storage environments in real-time to classify data and identify exposed files.
  • Reduce data exposure. The platform evaluates permissions and removes excessive access rights.
  • Detect and stop threats. Varonis employs artificial intelligence (AI) to analyze user behavior for threat detection and incident response.

David Bass, EVP of Engineering and CTO at Varonis, highlighted the importance of securing data integral to AI operations, emphasizing customer reliance on Pure Storage for their data processing needs.

Pure Storage VP Dan Kogan noted that the partnership addresses rising ransomware risks by focusing on proactive data security and resilience, enhancing the ability for organizations to manage their data securely.

Both companies have received industry recognition, with Pure Storage noted in the 2024 Gartner Magic Quadrant for Primary Storage Platforms and Varonis recognized in The Forrester Wave for Data Security Platforms in Q1 2025.
